HUGE BLOW: Unbelievable!! Another Packers star lands $20 million with NFC North rival

The Green Bay Packers made the decision to replace Aaron Jones with Josh Jacobs last offseason. While Jacobs’ performance proved to be successful, it also worked out well for the Minnesota Vikings, who signed Jones.

Jones ended up with a one-year deal with the Vikings last offseason, and with questions about his future entering this offseason, those questions have now been answered.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jones has agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract with Minnesota, just before the start of free agency. The deal includes $13 million in guaranteed money, and was negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus.

This move reflects Minnesota’s clear desire to retain Jones, ensuring that no other team could lure him away. During the 2024 season, Jones played all 17 regular-season games for the Vikings, rushing for 1,138 yards and five touchdowns on 255 carries—an average of 4.5 yards per carry. He also contributed 51 receptions for 408 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

At 30 years old, this is a solid deal for the Vikings, as Jones still has at least a couple of productive years ahead of him.

Unfortunately for the Packers, this means they will continue facing Jones twice a year. In the 2024 season, he accumulated 93 yards in the first game and 47 yards in the second matchup. Though not huge numbers, Jones has the ability to be a significant threat.

It will be intriguing to see how Jones performs in the 2025 season with the Vikings.
