St Louis Blues Franchise Receive Unfortunate news that leaves fans devastated

St. Louis Blues’ top defenseman is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season after sustaining a left knee injury during the team’s shootout win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Doug Armstrong, the President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, announced on Thursday that Colton Parayko will undergo knee surgery and be reevaluated in six weeks. The Blues’ final regular-season game is just two days before the six-week mark.

The 31-year-old leads the Blues in ice time, averaging nearly 24 minutes per game over 62 appearances while recording 35 points. His injury is a significant setback to the team’s playoff aspirations, especially after their shootout win over LA brought them to within one point of the second and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

To address organizational depth in goal, the Blues also signed Colten Ellis to a two-year, two-way contract extension on Thursday. Ellis will earn the league minimum $775,000 each of the next two seasons if he’s in the NHL, and $175,000 in 2025-26 and $225,000 in the AHL during the 2026-27 season.
