MAJOR BREAKING: Colorado Avalanche Superstar Drops a Major Statement On Retirement

The Captain has been sidelined since the Colorado Avalanche’s Stanley Cup victory, but now he’s sending a message to those speculating about his retirement.

The Avalanche claimed the Stanley Cup in the summer of 2022, and since then, their captain, Gabriel Landeskog, has not played, leading many to believe that retirement might be on the horizon for him.

There have been some indications that he could make a comeback during the 2024/25 season, but no major updates have surfaced yet, and all signs suggest that he will miss a second consecutive full NHL season.

However, for those who think he’s headed toward retirement, Landeskog has a clear message, which he shared during episode 2 of A Clean Sheet: Gabe Landeskog, indicating he’s far from finished.

For those concerned about his future, it might be time to reconsider their assumptions.

At 32 years old, Landeskog still has time to return to the NHL, but his increasing list of injuries has led many fans to doubt his immediate comeback.

Back in May 2023, Landeskog underwent cartilage transplant surgery, a procedure also performed on Chicago Bulls star Lonzo Ball. While Ball took a few years to recover fully and return to the court, Landeskog has now completed his recovery.

Though this doesn’t mean Landeskog will return soon, if the Avalanche are in the hunt for another Stanley Cup in 2025, it could be the perfect time for their longtime captain to make his dramatic and highly anticipated return. Ultimately, it might not be until next year, but his comments show he is committed to returning.
