Atlanta Braves part-ways with 2 gifted players

The Atlanta Braves may be testing different combinations with their pitching staff during the 2025 season. Several positions could be up for grabs, requiring some of the team’s young pitchers to stay prepared for future chances. However, for two specific players, that opportunity isn’t coming just yet.

The Atlanta Braves are sending right-handers  both from the Dominican Republic, to the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers, according to the team’s X account. With this move, the Braves’ spring training roster now stands at 46 players. They have a few more weeks to finalize their 26-man roster for Opening Day.

They  will likely benefit from additional time in the minor leagues to refine their skills. Gonzalez posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.91 WHIP in 3 2/3 innings, while Munoz performed better with a 3.38 ERA in 2 2/3 innings. At 25 and 24 years old, respectively, both pitchers are expected to make another appearance soon, possibly even in 2025.

Given the unpredictability that often affects bullpen performance, these two relievers should have plenty of opportunities to prove they deserve a spot on the MLB roster. While the Braves will monitor their development, much of the team’s focus remains on the current group of players assembled by general manager Alex Anthopoulos, who is shaping the roster for a playoff push in the upcoming season.
