The Oklahoma State Cowboys might be drawing inspiration from the OKC Thunder’s strategy. The Pokes have been keeping an eye on the success of Thunder star Jalen Williams and decided to find a standout of their own. It looks like they may have discovered one in Marietta, Georgia.
With face-to-face recruitment set to resume in March, Oklahoma State received significant news on Monday. The Cowboys’ coaching staff has been putting in considerable effort to secure the next big Oklahoma State star.
2026 prep defensive back recently revealed on social media that he has narrowed his list of college football programs down to five. Prior to this, Williams had received more than 34 major offers. His final five schools are Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Pitt, Arizona State, and NC State.
Standing 6 feet tall, Williams is a standout defensive talent from Marietta, Georgia, who has been impressing since he first stepped onto the field. He is currently ranked as the No. 8 defensive back in the nation and holds a four-star rating.
During his time at Kell High School, Williams earned Region 6 Class AAAA All-Region honors, recording 38 total tackles, four tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, 10 passes defended, and a blocked field goal. Additionally, he had a rare but valuable stat: Williams recovered four onside kick attempts.

While many view NC State as the early frontrunner to secure the services of the future lockdown cornerback, things might not be set in stone. Williams received an offer from Oklahoma State on Valentine’s Day, and just hours later, he announced he had scheduled an official visit to Stillwater.
Williams is set to visit Oklahoma State on April 17th, and the Cowboys’ coaching staff will likely go all out to make a lasting impression on the Georgia native. After his visit to Stillwater, he plans to travel to Arizona State and NC State. In the coming months, Oklahoma State has more than 30 official visits lined up as recruiting intensifies.
