The New York Giants have made their first move concerning a quarterback room that will experience significant changes this offseason.
As the NFL free agency period is set to begin with the legal tampering window opening Monday afternoon, the Giants took care of some business by re-signing fan-favorite quarterback The 26-year-old was an exclusive rights free agent heading into the offseason.
It had long been anticipated that DeVito would return to East Rutherford, despite the expected changes in the Giants’ quarterback room.
As an exclusive rights free agent, DeVito had little choice but to rejoin the Giants once they extended him the tender, which is worth $1.03 million, non-guaranteed for the 2025 season.

The third-year quarterback and Livingston, NJ native made two starts for New York after the midseason release of former starter Daniel Jones. In those starts, DeVito completed 70.5% of his passes for 257 yards, averaging 5.8 yards per attempt. He did not throw any touchdowns or interceptions.
The Giants are anticipated to address the quarterback position further this offseason, likely adding a veteran either via free agency or trade. With the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, New York is also expected to consider drafting a rookie quarterback if the opportunity arises.
While bringing DeVito back doesn’t alter the team’s overall plans, it does mean he will have the most experience in Brian Daboll’s offense compared to any other quarterback in the room.
