Denver Broncos To Land Fruition Deal For Dallas Cowboys 1,000-Yard Running Back

Dallas Cowboys running back  is now a free agent for the first time in his career after entering the NFL undrafted in 2020. The  Denver Broncos might look to strengthen their running game this offseason, and the gifted player could be a potential target.

Rico Dowdle's 2021 Cowboys Player Profile and Preview

In his offseason predictions, Solak suggested that the Broncos might sign Dowdle if they don’t acquire Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones. Dowdle finished the 2024 season with 1,079 yards from 235 carries, but only scored two rushing touchdowns. Though he’ll turn 27 in June, Dowdle hasn’t had the heavy workload many running backs typically see by his age, so he may still have plenty of gas in the tank and could be a viable long-term starter. Despite early-season struggles, he found his rhythm toward the end of the year. With the Broncos’ passing game looking solid, adding a strong running back could make them a team to watch, and Dowdle could be the reliable back to carry the load with 15 or more carries per game.
