Another gifted player commit to the UW Huskies after Jedd Fisch and the team made a major splash in the transfer portal on Tuesday, according to On3Sports.
According to 247Sports’ transfer portal rankings, he was the top-ranked cornerback and the 15th-ranked player overall.
As a member of Fisch’s 2022 class, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound spent the last three seasons playing for Arizona after being recruited from Long Beach, California. After Fisch left Tucson to become head coach at UW in 2024, Davis chose to stay at Arizona, where he had played in 2022 and 2023.
This past season, he was selected to the second team of the All-Big 12 after recording 2.0 tackles for loss and six pass breakups. When he tied for third place in the FBS in 2023 with 16 pass breakups, he was named an All-Pac-12 honorable mention under Fisch. With a 27.8% forced incompletion rate in 2023, Davis was ranked seventh among Power Four corners by Pro Football Focus.
Davis has one more season of eligibility left. At the University of Washington, he’ll team up again with rising senior Ephesians Prysock to create a formidable cornerback pair. The two played together at Arizona during the 2022 and 2023 seasons before Prysock followed head coach Fisch to UW. Prysock started all 13 games for the Huskies last fall.
On December 20, PFF college football analyst Max Chadwick ranked Davis among the top players in the transfer portal, noting: “Davis was considered a potential first-round pick before this season, but like much of Arizona’s team, he had a disappointing year. Still, his performance in 2023 was elite enough to keep him high on this list. He’s an exceptionally large corner at 6-foot-4 with the length to disrupt receivers in both press coverage and at the catch point.”
