Massive boost: Rich Rodriguez and West Virginia Mountaineers land blockbuster commitment for another top super talent

Texas A&M  talented player revealed that he has decided to join the West Virginia football team.

A  three-star recruit, played two seasons at Texas A&M after spending two years at Fresno State. While his time at Fresno was limited, he started the final four games of the 2023 season, completing 53 of 78 passes for 715 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions under then-head coach Jimbo Fisher. However, his standing at A&M took a hit in 2024 due to injury issues, dropping him down the depth chart under new head coach Mike Elko. Henderson also showed dual-threat ability, adding 104 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in 2023.

WVU Lands Texas A&M QB Transfer Jaylen Henderson

Henderson will have two years of eligibility left if he used a medical redshirt last season, or just one year if he did not. This suggests he is being brought in to compete for the starting quarterback role, which had been expected to be filled by Nicco Marchiol, a two-year backup at WVU who recently announced his return to the program. As a result, it looks like a fierce quarterback competition will take place in Morgantown this offseason.
