The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out two vital players ahead of upcoming game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Both players suffered injuries during the game against the Baltimore Ravens, and with the short turnaround, they were unable to recover in time to play just four days later. Although both attempted to continue in the game, neither could finish. Non of them participated in practice this week, but they could be available for the team’s next game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Skowronek, who missed most of the first half of the season due to a shoulder injury, has returned and become a key contributor on special teams as a punt gunner, as well as an important blocker on offense. He has played multiple roles, including wing, slot receiver, and fullback. In his absence, the Steelers will rely on their other wide receivers and tight ends to fill the gap in blocking.
Porter is dealing with a grade 1 PCL sprain, which will likely keep him out for the remainder of the regular season, though the team expects him to return for the playoffs. In the meantime, either James Pierre or Cory Trice will start opposite Donte Jackson at cornerback.
