BYU football has added a State Champion quarterback to its 2025 recruiting class, securing a commitment from MVP honors QB, the Bountiful High quarterback.
Geilman made his commitment announcement on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
“After great conversations with Aaron Roderick and Matt Mitchell, I’m happy to announce I will be committing to Brigham Young University!”
The 6-foot-3, 193-pound dual-threat quarterback threw for 2,465 yards and posted a 22-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio during the 2024 season. He also ran for 829 yards and scored 14 rushing touchdowns. Geilman led Bountiful High to a 5A State Championship last month, marking the Redhawks’ first state title since 2003. In the title game against Roy at Rice-Eccles Stadium, he contributed two touchdowns in the 42-35 win.
Geilman was named the Deseret News’ 5A Player of the Year and was recognized as the KSL Sports Week 9 Northern Utah High School Player of the Week earlier in his senior season. Over his career at Bountiful, he passed for 5,415 yards and rushed for 1,133 yards, completing 59.9% of his passes.
Last summer, Geilman earned QB MVP honors at one of BYU’s on-campus camps and later attended games at LaVell Edwards Stadium during BYU’s 10-2 season.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Geilman plans to serve a two-year mission, although the timing is still undecided.
He also competed in an Elite 11 regional event in Las Vegas last spring, where he earned the second-best rating among quarterbacks with a 95.82 score, which included a 4.7-second 40-yard dash, a 38-inch vertical jump, and a 4.47 shuttle time.
