Good News: Done deal, USD reportedly confirm the signing of standout athletes

Head coach Bob Nielson and the University of South Dakota football team announced the addition of 11 new student-athletes to the 2025 roster on National Signing Day, December 4. This initial group of recruits includes six offensive players and five defensive players. Below are details about each new Coyote:

  • Jaden Brown / DB / 5-9 / 172 / Orlando, Fla. / Edgewater H.S.
    Brown, a native of Orlando, Florida, recorded 10 career interceptions at Edgewater High School. He plans to major in business at USD.
  • Max Coles / DL / 6-4 / 240 / Shakopee, Minn. / Shakopee H.S.
    Coles, a two-time All-District and First Team All-State selection from Shakopee, Minnesota, was a team captain and a three-year starter with 90 tackles in his senior season. He intends to study business at USD.

  • Lucas Feldkamp / OL / 6-5 / 305 / Sioux Falls, S.D. / Brandon Valley H.S.
    Feldkamp, an All-Metro and All-State offensive lineman, was a three-year starter and named the Tate Johnson Offensive Player of the Year at Brandon Valley High School. He plans to major in business and mathematics at USD.
  • Chris Herrin / TE / 6-5 / 230 / Terre Haute, Ind. / South Vigo H.S.
    Herrin set a school record with 66 receptions in a season at South Vigo High School. He earned All-State honors once and All-Conference honors three times, with over 1,500 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. He plans to major in business administration at USD.
  • Carter Holmes / OL / 6-3 / 280 / Atkins, Iowa / Benton Community H.S.
    Holmes, the Iowa Class 3A-District 5 Offensive Lineman of the Year, was a three-year starter at Benton Community High School. He aims to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
  • Dylan Hudgens / LB / 6-2 / 215 / Minnetonka, Minn. / Minnetonka H.S.
    Hudgens, an All-State linebacker, recorded 120 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and one sack at Minnetonka High School. He plans to study business at USD.
  • Evan Kludt / WR / 6-3 / 185 / Alexandria, Minn. / Alexandria H.S.
    A Star Tribune Top-25 athlete in Minnesota, Kludt earned All-Conference honors and had 100 receptions, 1,667 yards, and 21 touchdowns during his prep career. He intends to study exercise science at USD.
  • Lathan McDaniel / OL / 6-3 / 285 / Indianola, Iowa / Indianola H.S.
    McDaniel, a two-time First Team All-District and First Team All-State offensive lineman, was named the OL MVP. He plans to pursue a Pre-Med major at USD.
  • Austyn Modrzewski / QB / 6-5 / Littleton, Colo. / Mountain Vista H.S.
    Modrzewski, the Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year, threw for nearly 12,000 yards and 147 touchdowns during his high school career. He was a three-time First Team All-State and Offensive Player of the Year. He plans to major in business at USD.
  • Calib Svoboda / DL / 6-2 / 265 / David City, Neb. / Bishop Neumann H.S.
    Svoboda, an All-State defensive lineman, recorded 70 tackles and 14 tackles for loss during his career at Bishop Neumann High School. He aims to become a chiropractor.
  • Cain Wallner / LB / 6-2 / 215 / Canton, S.D. / Canton H.S.
    Wallner, a two-time Elite 45 Team member, recorded 236 career tackles and 14 tackles for loss at Canton High School. He plans to major in Kinesiology and Sport Management at USD.
