It’s been a tough week for the UCLA Bruins, and things just got worse. After losing running back TJ Harden and quarterback Justyn Martin, the team was hoping for no more setbacks. Unfortunately, more bad news came their way as they lost out on a local quarterback. According to On3 Recruits, four-star QB has decided to decommit from UCLA and commit to Arkansas. The gifted player, who plays for Warren High School in Downey, California, just a short distance from UCLA, opted not to stay close to home. Instead, he’ll head across the country to join the SEC. Notably, Iamaleava will now play alongside his brother, Nico Iamaleava, who is the starting quarterback for Tennessee.
“SEC we here,” Madden Iamaleava said about the commitment change.
This is a significant development for the Arkansas Razorbacks, who have struggled to maintain relevance in the SEC in recent years. With a 4-8 record this season, they finished 11th in the conference. Meanwhile, Madden Iamaleava’s older brother has had a standout season, helping lead Tennessee to a 10-2 record and a probable playoff spot. Arkansas will be hoping that Madden Iamaleava can have a similar positive impact on their offense moving forward.
