CONFIRMED: 3 Red Sox stars will leave Fenway Park as they are out of team’s plans

Following the Boston Red Sox’s defeat to the New York Yankees in the Wild Card Series, their offseason is now underway. As they shift focus to the next season, the team will likely explore trades to strengthen the roster into a championship-caliber squad.

Here are three Red Sox players who will be involved in major trade moves this offseason:

Jarren Duran, OF

How Jarren Duran is dealing with self-imposed pressure

Duran likely tops the list of potential trade candidates for many observers. If the Red Sox decide to keep all their current outfielders, they’d be carrying six — an unusually crowded group. Duran has already been at the center of numerous trade rumors, including being a key piece in the near-completed deadline deal for Minnesota Twins ace Joe Ryan.

This past season, Duran posted a solid slash line of .256/.332/.442/.774, while racking up 41 doubles, a league-leading 13 triples, 16 home runs, and 24 stolen bases. Given his strong performance and athletic profile, he’d draw significant interest on the trade market. While parting ways with him would be tough for Boston, it could be a necessary move to address other pressing roster needs.

Masataka Yoshida, OF

Yoshida is another talented outfielder caught in a logjam, vying for playing time alongside five others. Injuries sidelined him for a significant stretch of the season, and when he returned, he struggled to regain his previous form.

Despite that, he stepped up when it mattered most — emerging as a clutch performer in September after Roman Anthony went down, and delivering a strong showing in the playoffs. That late-season surge could boost his trade value heading into the offseason. With his left-handed bat and ability to serve as a DH or corner outfielder, Yoshida is the kind of player several teams would be eager to add.

Triston Casas, 1B

This is more of a pull. While he was a prime trade candidate last offseason, getting two serious season-ending injuries could definitely hurt him. However, he’s here because of that; he’s just never available.

If the Sox can trade Casas and land a star free agent like Pete Alonso, they could be in the driver’s seat for the AL East.
