One of the most intriguing players who could be traded at the MLB deadline is veteran right fielder of the Texas Rangers. As the Los Angeles Dodgers aim to bolster their postseason chances, they consider sacrificing some future assets to acquire the outfielder.
Currently, the Rangers sit at 53-50, but they’re trailing by seven games in the AL West. With no real intention of making a deep postseason push, it seems increasingly likely that García will be dealt.
On July 13th, Francys Romero shared on X that “Multiple teams have shown interest in Adolis García ahead of the trade deadline, according to industry sources.”
The Dodgers, always active in improving their squad, are a logical contender to be one of those teams.

Adolis García Joining The Los Angeles Dodgers
So far this season, García has been playing at a high level, even at 32 years old. Right now, García has a 2.1 WAR, 14 home runs, and a 0.228 batting average.
Although the batting average is low, García has always been a power hitter. Last season García had 25 home runs with a 0.224 batting average, and the year before that, he had 39 home runs with a 0.245 batting average.
How Adolis García Fits in Los Angeles
The appeal of Adolis García lies in the consistency he brings to the table. He doesn’t need to be the star of the offense, and for a team like the Dodgers, who have a strong lineup, adding power to the bottom of the order would be an ideal fit.
At the moment, Michael Conforto holds down the left field spot for Los Angeles, but his struggles this season have been evident. Conforto has posted a -0.7 WAR, just eight home runs, and a dismal .185 batting average.
Looking at his numbers on Baseball Savant, Conforto ranks poorly in Batting Run Value, Baserunning Run Value, and Fielding Run Value. On the other hand, García is “poor” in Batting Run Value but excels in both Baserunning Run Value and Fielding Run Value, making him a more well-rounded option.
