BREAKING: ‘sad news’ Oklahoma Sooners softball lose two more potential players to transfer portal nightmare

The Sooners have now lost four players to the transfer portal off Patty Gasso’s 2025 softball roster.

On Thursday, D1Softball’s Justin McLeod reported that OU outfielder and infielder  are entering the transfer portal.

Coor will have one year of eligibility left, while McKay will have three years remaining at her next destination.

Injuries plagued Coor for much of her career, but she found her rhythm with the Sooners in 2024. She appeared in 45 games and started 23, serving as a reliable defensive presence in the outfield. At the plate, Coor hit .329, tallying four doubles, two home runs, and 15 RBIs. However, her playing time diminished late in the season as freshman Sydney Barker emerged, with Coor primarily serving as a defensive substitute during the SEC and NCAA Tournaments.

McKay faced difficulty cracking Oklahoma’s infield lineup as a freshman. With Gabbie Garcia locking down shortstop and Ailana Agbayani earning a Gold Glove at second base, opportunities were limited. McKay appeared in just seven games and recorded five official at-bats in 2025.

OU head coach Patty Gasso will return nearly the entire infield next season, with the lone departure being Cydney Sanders. That spot is expected to be contested between Barker and highly regarded incoming freshman Lexi McDaniel.

In the outfield, Kasidi Pickering and Abigale Dayton are expected to maintain their roles, while Barker, who also saw time there as a freshman, could factor in again.

The Sooners also added major talent with the signing of outfielder Kai Minor, the No. 1 overall player in Softball America’s 2025 Recruiting Rankings. Tia Milloy is also set to return and compete for playing time in Norman.

Additionally, freshman catcher Corri Hicks and sophomore outfielder Maya Bland have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal.
