As the recruiting season heats up for the Florida Gators, one of their standout commitments from last cycle remains Ben Hanks III, a top-50 overall defensive back who is expected to play a pivotal role in the Gators’ secondary for years to come.
Now, Florida is looking to build on that foundation by potentially adding another top-50 prospect to the mix—one they seem to be gaining traction with as momentum builds in his recruitment.
A 6-foot-1, 170-pound standout from Booker High School in Sarasota, is a dynamic two-way player. He’s rated as a five-star prospect by 247Sports, ranks inside the top 50 nationally according to On3 and ESPN, and comes in at No. 236 overall on Rivals.

Though capable of making an impact as a wide receiver, Kennon is projected to play cornerback at the next level.
His game tape showcases his explosiveness off the snap—his initial burst is exceptional. When receivers try double moves like stop-and-gos, few can match his ability to recover and accelerate.
What makes Kennon particularly unique is the contrast in his play style: while he has the agility and ball skills of an elite wideout who avoids contact when needed, he’s also more than willing to get physical. He doesn’t hesitate to deliver a big hit when called upon, showing real toughness as a tackler.
He visited Gainesville earlier this month and is expected to return in June.
Kennon recently revealed his top six schools: Florida State, Georgia, Oregon, LSU, Miami, and Florida, with a commitment date set for July 6.
This recruitment remains wide open, and Florida is genuinely in contention—not just listed out of courtesy. His film justifies his top-50 status, and he’d be a major addition for the Gators.
