
The Iowa Hawkeyes have secured a commitment from South Dakota cornerback who has entered the transfer portal. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound officially signed today after visiting Iowa City earlier this week, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Barros brings two years of starting experience at the FCS level and is poised to compete for immediate playing time this season. In 2024, he recorded 41 tackles and one interception, and in 2023, he had 49 tackles and two interceptions.
A native of Massachusetts, Barros attended St. Thomas More prep school in Connecticut, where he was coached by former Hawkeye Jason Manson, now Iowa’s director of player development.
Barros has one year of eligibility remaining at Iowa.
