Former Troy University standout quarterback Brandon Silvers is making a comeback to professional football, sources confirmed Thursday. After a brief hiatus from the game, Silvers has signed with St. Louis Battlehawks, signaling his return to the gridiron.
Silvers, a native of Orange Beach, Alabama, earned recognition during his collegiate career with the Troy Trojans, where he threw for over 10,000 yards and 71 touchdowns from 2014 to 2017. Known for his poise in the pocket and sharp football IQ, Silvers played a crucial role in revitalizing the Trojans’ football program, including leading them to a historic win over LSU in 2017.
Following college, Silvers had stints in several professional leagues, including the AAF (Alliance of American Football), XFL, and USFL. His most recent professional action came with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL, where he drew praise for his leadership and veteran presence.

“It’s always been about the love of the game,” Silvers said in a statement. “I’ve stayed ready, and I’m excited to compete again and contribute to a team however I can.”
Details on his role and expected playing time with St. Louis Battlehawks have yet to be announced, but fans are eager to see the former Trojan back under center. Silvers’ return adds a seasoned arm to the roster and brings leadership both on and off the field.
As the UFL prepares to kick off, Silvers’ comeback will be one to watch—especially for Troy fans who remember his clutch performances and steady hand at quarterback.
