MAJOR BREAKING: Michigan football Get Huge transfer portal News

Michigan football experienced its first major departure of the spring transfer window when running back Benjamin Hall decided to enter the portal. Hall was projected to be the third-string back behind Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall in 2025, but likely sought a bigger role and will now pursue that opportunity elsewhere.

Earlier in the offseason, the Wolverines also lost Cole Cabana and Tavierre Dunlap to the portal, while Donovan Edwards and Kalel Mullings left due to graduation. As a result, Michigan’s running back depth has taken a hit, prompting the team to seek reinforcements to fill the gap left by Hall.

On Friday night, Michigan extended a scholarship offer to former Princeton running back John Volker, who is currently visiting Ann Arbor and is set to attend the team’s spring game.

Volker, a 6-foot back, earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy League honors in 2024. He played in all but one game last season, rushing for 514 yards and six touchdowns. Over his four-year career at Princeton, Volker totaled 1,183 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 245 carries.

Returning to Michigan’s backfield in 2025 is Micah Ka’apana, along with incoming freshmen Jasper Parker and Donovan Johnson, who were both signed in the 2025 recruiting class.
