NC State announce big news regarding Alabama transfer

NC State basketball will welcome forward for an official visit next week, according to Travis Branham of 247Sports. The visit is scheduled for Monday, April 21 to April 23, and will be arranged by Will Wade.

The 6’8″, 220-pound forward finished last season with an average of 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, shooting 26.3% from beyond the arc. After entering the transfer portal seeking more opportunities, Reid has NC State near the top of his list, with other schools like Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Miami, SMU, Florida, and Georgetown also showing interest. Sources from Pack Pride have suggested that BYU is also in the mix, alongside the schools Branham listed.

A Georgia native, Reid attended Prolific Prep in California in high school and earned McDonald’s All-American honors. Last November, ESPN projected him as the No. 21 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, though he played only 14.1 minutes per game this season, starting three of his 24 appearances.

NC State has been keeping an eye on Reid even before he entered the portal, and once he did, Will Wade ramped up the recruiting efforts. The staff also held a Zoom call with Reid earlier this week and now has the official visit locked in, hoping to secure his commitment before he takes other visits.

Pack Pride will provide further updates on Reid’s official visit.
