After a successful weekend in the transfer portal, where the Virginia Cavaliers women’s basketball team secured two key bigs, Coach Mox kept the momentum going with the addition of South Florida transfer guard.
Levy, a 6-foot-3 guard from Herzliya, Israel, has one year of eligibility left and brings a wealth of experience to Charlottesville. A versatile player who excels in the post against smaller defenders, Levy averaged 11.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game during her two years at USF, earning AAC Newcomer of the Year honors for the 2023-24 season.
Prior to her time at USF, Levy spent three years at Auburn, where she earned 2021 SEC All-Freshman Team honors and averaged over 20 minutes per game during the 2022-23 season, though she missed the 2021-22 season due to a torn ACL.
Levy also has international experience, having helped the U18 Israeli national team earn a bronze medal at the 2018 Women’s European Championships.
With returning guards Kymora Johnson, Paris Clark, and Olivia McGhee, Levy will add valuable depth and veteran leadership to the backcourt. Standing at 6-foot-3, she is a strong defender (averaging nearly one steal per game last season) and a solid rebounder for a guard, which complements the athleticism of Johnson and Clark.
Levy’s commitment makes her the fourth transfer to join Virginia in the past week, following UCF forward Adeang Ring, NC State center Caitlin Weimar, and LSU forward Sa’Myah Smith. Despite five players transferring out, Coach Mox and the Cavaliers are poised to continue making moves in the portal, especially with the backing of a generous NIL fund, thanks to Reddit co-founder and UVA alum Alexis Ohanian’s donation.
