Five-star guard announced on Wednesday that he will join Arizona for the upcoming season, selecting the Wildcats over USC, Oregon, Texas, and Alabama.
Burries shared his decision during ESPN’s SportsCenter, explaining that he was drawn to how Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd allows his guards to play freely. He showed off a framed No. 5 Arizona jersey and wore a white Arizona hat.
“His playing style, I feel like it fits me perfectly,” Burries said. “I feel like he’s gonna get the best out of me.”
A longtime target of the Wildcats and former club teammate of UA forward Carter Bryant, Burries is ranked No. 11 overall in the class of 2025. He is expected to start or play a significant reserve role on the perimeter next season, regardless of whether the Wildcats retain point guard Jaden Bradley and wing Anthony Dell’Orso.

Burries will also join fellow five-star forward Koa Peat, four-star forward Dwayne Aristode and three-star guard Bryce James in the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class. Burries, Peat and James are all represented by Klutch Sports Group.
“We’ll have one of the best freshman classes coming in,” Burries said. “I feel like we got a chance to make some deep pushes in March Madness. Stay tuned. It’s gonnna be great for sure.”
During the Section 7 recruiting showcase last June in Glendale, when he said he was still wide open in his recruitment, Burries expressed appreciation for UA staffers.
