Reds fans devastated after injury spoils promising Nick Lodolo start vs. Cubs

“If I threw a couple more pitches, it would not have been in a good spot,” Lodolo said after leaving the game against the Cubs. “Fortunately, I know what it feels like. … Last year, I started trying to throw the ball, compensating, because I didn’t want to put too much pressure through the index finger.”

There’s still no set timetable for Nick Lodolo’s return, but his recovery seems to be moving in the right direction.

The Reds have a day off on Thursday before beginning a three-game home series against the Milwaukee Brewers at Great American Ball Park on Friday.

Currently, Cincinnati holds a 64-58 record and trails the New York Mets by just one game for the final National League Wild Card spot.
