After throwing 5 1/3 innings and close to 80 pitches in his most recent rehab outing in the minors, Hunter Greene is expected to work out in Cincinnati today and is scheduled to start against the Phillies on Wednesday, per Pat Brennan of The Enquirer.
Greene has been sidelined since June 3 due to a right groin strain and hasn’t appeared in a Major League game since.

In his Friday night rehab start for Triple-A Louisville, Greene allowed just two hits—both home runs—but surrendered five earned runs overall, walking three and striking out seven over 5 1/3 innings. He threw 52 of his 79 pitches for strikes.
The 26-year-old right-hander holds a 4-3 record with a 2.72 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 59 2/3 innings this season. If fully recovered, he could provide a significant boost to the Reds’ pitching rotation.
From Terry Francona: Hunter Greene is going to workout in Cincy today, plan is for him to pitch Wednesday vs. Phillies.
