Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers is having a fantastic start to her WNBA career and is a runaway favorite to win Rookie of the Year, but she admitted that she still has a lot to learn.

“I feel like I’m adjusting every single game. It’s not like I have it figured out,” she told ESPN’s Elle Duncan. “There’s learning curves to it and there’s ups and downs to it, but as much as I can I’m just trying to learn every day, watch a lot of film, breaking stuff down to where I’m reading the game in a different way. Every game is a new challenge to learn from.”
Bueckers, the top pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, is putting up impressive numbers—averaging 18.1 points, 5.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game through her first 20 games—showing a level of maturity well beyond her rookie year.
However, despite her standout performances, the Dallas Wings are struggling. They currently sit second-to-last in the WNBA standings with a 7-19 record.
While this season has been tough, the future looks promising with Bueckers at the helm.
