Despite a narrow 91-88 overtime defeat to the Washington Mystics on Sunday, which dropped the Dallas Wings to 3-12 this season, rookie guard Paige Bueckers delivered a standout performance. She forced overtime with a clutch three-pointer to tie the game at 84 in the final seconds of regulation and finished the night with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.
While the Wings currently sit at the bottom of the Western Conference standings—far behind the 12-1 Minnesota Lynx—Bueckers has proven to be a silver lining in a tough season.
In her first 11 games, Bueckers is one of just two guards in the league, along with Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream, averaging at least 18 points per game with a shooting percentage over 46%.
Recognizing her impressive play, the Wings’ social media team highlighted the stat on Monday and encouraged fans to vote Bueckers into the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, scheduled for July 19.
Paige Bueckers is currently one of two guards (Allisha Gray) averaging at least 18 ppg while shooting at least 46% from the field.

In her debut season, Bueckers has already celebrated multiple milestones.
She recorded her first double-double (12 points, 10 assists) in just her third career game, had a season-high 35-point outing in her return from injury on June 11 and has more 20-point games this season than all other rookies combined.
Her 18.2 points, 5.9 assists, 2 steals and 0.9 blocks per game all lead the Wings, and she is also contributing 4.5 rebounds per contest, ranking among the top rookies in every major category.
By all accounts, she’s already the clear favorite for Rookie of the Year.
With less than one month to go before the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, fan voting is in full swing.
The WNBA revealed on Friday that Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx were leading early returns; however, Bueckers’ hot start has put her firmly in the conversation for a first All-Star selection if fans come through.
