Virginia Football received a boost to their 2026 recruiting class this evening, as head coach Tony Elliott and his staff successfully flipped three-star linebacker from Cincinnati.
Uran, who plays high school football at Elder High School in Cincinnati, is a notable pickup for Virginia despite the Bearcats not being a traditional recruiting powerhouse. Flipping a local recruit is still a significant move. Uran is ranked No. 1132 nationally, the No. 94 linebacker, and the No. 48 player in Ohio. He also held offers from schools like Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Liberty, Ohio, and Toledo. He’s now the sixth commitment in Virginia’s 2026 recruiting class, which currently sits at No. 70 in the 247Sports rankings.
Uran becomes Virginia’s first commitment of June and the first addition since the Cavaliers landed in-state athlete Alex Dunn.

Dunn, who plays both wide receiver and defensive back in high school, brings versatility and upside to the class. At 6’1″ and 180 pounds, he has the physical tools to make an impact at the next level, especially with continued development.
Three-star offensive tackle Michael Gildea, out of the Hun School in Princeton, New Jersey, committed to Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers in May, becoming the fourth pledge in Virginia’s 2026 recruiting class and the second offensive lineman to join the group.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Gildea is ranked No. 987 nationally, the No. 77 offensive tackle in the country, and the No. 19 prospect in New Jersey. He chose UVA over a strong list of offers, including Boston College, Duke, North Carolina, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest, among others. Gildea is expected to take an official visit to Charlottesville the weekend of June 19.
With June underway, more commitments could be on the horizon as Virginia continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail.
