Rutgers Football gained another commitment on the defensive line today, with 2026 defensive tackle from Taylor, Pennsylvania announcing his decision to join the CHOP26 class.
Branch, who plays for Riverside High School, marks the 23rd pledge in Rutgers’ 2026 recruiting class. The Scarlet Knights continue to hold a spot among the nation’s Top 10 recruiting classes, according to Rivals.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 285 pounds, Branch drew interest from programs as both an interior offensive lineman and a defensive tackle. However, he’s expected to line up on the defensive side for the Scarlet Knights.
His commitment was solidified after attending Rutgers’ first Official Visit weekend on May 30th, a visit that ultimately played a key role in his decision.

In his junior season, Branch posted impressive numbers, recording 65 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 40 quarterback pressures, 10.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
He received 24 offers from schools nationwide, ultimately narrowing his choices to a final five of Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Rutgers.
With his commitment, Branch becomes Rutgers’ first defensive tackle pledge in the 2026 class, joining fellow defensive line recruit Jermaine Polk from Ohio. He also becomes the sixth commit from Pennsylvania this cycle, alongside quarterback Xavier Stearn, wide receiver Elias Coke, offensive tackle Tyler Duell, interior offensive lineman Logan Anthony, and edge rusher Wydeek Collier.
