4-star talented safety gives Texas A&M Aggies some great news

Texas A &M football, under head coach Mike Elko, has been on a hot streak in recruiting lately.

Class of 2026 four-star safety Chance Collins has listed Texas A&M as one of his final four choices, according to Rivals.com’s Sam Spiegelman. The other programs in the mix are Texas Tech, Utah, and West Virginia.

Collins visited Utah on May 30 and is expected to announce his college decision on Wednesday, June 11—just over a week before his scheduled trip to College Station on June 20. If he doesn’t initially choose the Aggies, Elko and his staff will still have a shot to sway him during his visit.

The Mansfield Timberview standout is known for his playmaking ability on both sides of the ball and special teams. As a junior, he caught 16 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he tallied six interceptions, eight pass breakups, 20 tackles, and two tackles for loss.

In addition to football, Collins shines on the track. He recorded times of 10.76 seconds in the 100m and 21.16 seconds in the 200m during the most recent track season. As a sophomore, he also clocked a 49.82 in the 400m, a 10.99 in the 100m, and a 22.56 in the 200m.

Texas A\&M has doubled down on recruiting top-tier talent nationwide. Since bringing on highly respected recruiter David “Pop” Cooney, the Aggies have seen a major recruiting surge, securing three commitments, landing a top kicker in the 2026 class, and locking in several official visits within just 72 hours of his hiring.

The Aggies will kick off their 2025 season with a night game against the UTSA Roadrunners.
