JUST IN: Kansas State football coach Chris Klieman confirm Big News Involving Highly Rated Talent

Kansas State football has secured its quarterback for the 2026 recruiting class — and potentially the future replacement for current starter Avery Johnson.

A 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior from Austin, Texas, announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Wednesday via social media.

A consensus three-star recruit, Teodecki led Vandegrift High School in Leander (just outside Austin) to a Class 6A Division II state title last season. He completed 70% of his passes for 3,290 yards and threw 48 touchdowns with just seven interceptions, earning Texas 6A Division II Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Teodecki is Kansas State’s eighth commitment for the 2026 class and the fourth from Texas to commit since a busy Memorial Day weekend that saw 14 recruits visit Manhattan. He selected K-State over offers from schools including Cincinnati, Colorado State, Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, UTSA, and North Texas, as well as Ivy League programs such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and others.

The Wildcats have had a productive recruiting week. In addition to Teodecki, they added running back Tanner West from Katy and offensive linemen Keegan Collins (Amarillo) and Justin Morales (El Paso).

Teodecki joins a promising group of young quarterbacks at K-State who are positioned to compete for the starting role after Johnson. That group includes 2023 transfer Jacob Knuth from Minnesota, 2024 signee Blake Barnett, and incoming freshman Dillon Duff.

Also this week, cornerback Brandon Ford from Crowley, Oklahoma, reaffirmed his commitment to the Wildcats by officially ending his recruitment. Other members of the 2026 class include linebacker Dejon Ackerson (Putnam City, OK), and offensive linemen Lamarcus Barber (Mill Valley, KS) and Oliver Miller (Englewood, CO).
