West Virginia Confirm Intriguing News As Talented Center Withdraws From Portal, Returns to Morgantown

Ross Hodge had been looking everywhere to add depth at the center position, but it turns out one key piece was right in his own backyard all along.

West Virginia freshman big man  (6’9″, 221 lbs) has taken his name out of the transfer portal and rejoined the Mountaineers. He’s already been added back to the team’s official roster online.

Originally from Accra, Ghana,  Oyeadier wrapped up his high school career at the Academy of Sports Science in Corona, California, where he averaged 10.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. Although Pepperdine and UC Irvine showed interest, the chance to play at West Virginia proved too good to pass up.

Oyeadier redshirted last season and didn’t see any game action, meaning he retains all four years of eligibility.

With his return, the Mountaineers now have two true centers on the roster—Oyeadier and UNC Wilmington transfer Harlan Obioha, who is projected to start. Head coach Ross Hodge and his staff are still on the hunt for additional frontcourt help, ideally aiming to bring in at least one more experienced big man. The challenge? The pool of available talent is quickly shrinking.
