On Thursday afternoon, Padres star reached a significant milestone, cementing his place in MLB history.
During the third inning of the San Diego Padres’ game against the San Francisco Giants, the 32-year-old third baseman launched a 391-foot, two-run homer to left-center field. The go-ahead blast marked the 350th home run of Machado’s career.
With that swing, Machado became just the 10th third baseman in Major League Baseball history to hit 350 home runs. The elite group includes legends like Mike Schmidt, Eddie Mathews, Adrian Beltre, Chipper Jones, Darrell Evans, Aramis Ramirez, Graig Nettles, Matt Williams, and Gary Gaetti.

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado is close to joining the club as well, sitting at 347 career homers and likely to hit the milestone later this season.
Machado made his MLB debut with the Baltimore Orioles in 2012, was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018, and has played for the Padres since 2019. He still has nine years left on his contract, worth nearly $300 million, giving him ample time to further build his Hall of Fame credentials.
Throughout his career, Machado has maintained a .280 batting average and an .828 OPS. He’s a six-time All-Star with two Silver Slugger Awards and two Gold Gloves, and has consistently posted strong offensive numbers—topping 28 home runs and 85 RBIs in every full season since 2015. His career WAR currently stands at 59.7.
In the 2025 season so far, through 61 games, Machado is hitting .316 with nine home runs, 17 doubles, 31 RBIs, eight stolen bases, and an .879 OPS.
