The top super star for the Oklahoma team, announced Tuesday on social media that she is entering the NCAA transfer portal. Hicks spent just one season with the Sooners, appearing in 24 games. She posted a .261 batting average over 23 plate appearances, recording six hits, three runs, and eight RBIs.
Her departure comes shortly after Oklahoma’s impressive postseason streak ended in the Women’s College World Series semifinals with a 2-0 loss to Texas. It marks the first time since 2018 the Sooners will not play in the championship series, following a dominant run that included four straight national titles.
In her post, Hicks expressed gratitude to Sooner fans and the Oklahoma community, writing, “I want to say thank you to the amazing Sooner fans and good people I’ve met at Oklahoma who’ve supported me. I’m grateful for my time here and am excited for what’s to come.”
Hicks will have three years of eligibility remaining as she looks for a new program.
