Major Roster Shakeup: Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti land massive commitment for physically gifted player

During a recent booster event, Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti hinted that additions to the Hoosiers’ 2026 recruiting class were on the way. That prediction came true Monday night with a notable new commitment.

Eau Claire North (Wis.) offensive tackle  announced his verbal commitment to Indiana, becoming the 10th pledge in the class. Mondeau stands out not just for his commitment but also for his size—listed at 6-foot-7, 315 pounds on his Hudl profile.

Mondeau chose the Hoosiers over eight scholarship offers, including Wake Forest, Iowa State, and Air Force. On3’s industry rankings rate him as a three-star recruit, placing him No. 1,226 nationally, the No. 92 offensive tackle, and the fifth-best prospect in Wisconsin.

IU offensive line coach Bob Bostad is no stranger to Wisconsin’s recruiting scene, having spent 12 years on staff at Wisconsin across two separate stints. His familiarity with the area has already paid off—he previously secured a commitment from River Falls lineman Samuel Simpson in February. Simpson currently ranks as the top prospect in Wisconsin, according to On3.

The Hoosiers are preparing to lose at least three scholarship offensive linemen after the 2026 season, and starting left tackle Carter Smith could opt for the NFL draft early. While the current offensive line is rich in experience heading into fall camp, battles for starting spots are expected—particularly at right tackle, where Kahlil Benson and Zen Michalski are competing, and at left guard, where Drew Evans is working his way back from an Achilles injury.
