Throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s, the Michigan Wolverines were renowned for producing elite wide receivers, including legends like Desmond Howard, Braylon Edwards, and David Terrell. However, that legacy has waned in recent years, and heading into the 2025 season, Michigan’s receiving corps is looking to re-establish itself after a disappointing 2024 campaign. Last season, tight end Colston Loveland led the team in receiving—despite missing three games due to injury.

Now, the Wolverines are aiming to reload with fresh talent, and this week brought a glimmer of hope for the program’s future. On Wednesday, four-star wide receiver Zion Robinson from Mansfield, Texas, announced an official visit to Michigan scheduled for May 30 to June 1.
“#BlessedandGrateful,” Robinson posted on X, signaling his enthusiasm about the trip and putting Wolverine fans on alert. His visit is part of the program’s ongoing “#BluePrintSummer” initiative, as head coach Sherrone Moore builds on a strong 2025 recruiting class and turns his attention to 2026.
Robinson, listed at 6-foot-4 and 160 pounds, is being recruited by Michigan wide receivers coach and former Wolverine standout Ron Bellamy. While Texas A\&M is currently seen as the favorite to land his commitment, Michigan is considered a close second, according to On3.
A dynamic athlete, Robinson is just as impressive off the field as he is on it. He maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a Texas state champion in track and field, having won the 6A state high jump title—athleticism that translates well to his leaping ability and vertical threat on the gridiron.
Originally listed at 6-foot-2 by recruiting services, Robinson recently shared on X that he’s grown two inches, now standing 6-foot-4.
The Wolverines are hoping he’ll join a 2026 recruiting class that currently ranks 17th nationally and is headlined by four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel.
