Just yesterday, we reported on one standout recruit: Richard Wesley, a five-star edge rusher who, despite being committed to Oregon, announced plans to visit Ohio State for the weekend of the Texas game.
Wesley had previously scheduled visits to several other schools, which raised eyebrows given his commitment to Oregon. However, that move now makes sense, as he has officially de-committed from Oregon. With his recruitment back open, Ohio State has a legitimate shot at landing him.

With Wesley no longer committed to another Big Ten program, the Ohio State Buckeyes now have a real opportunity to bring him in. What makes the situation even more promising is that his official visit is set for the biggest game of college football’s opening weekend—a prime chance for the Buckeyes to impress.
Wesley is one of the top recruits in the nation regardless of position, and Ohio State is hoping to make a strong push for him. If defensive line coach Larry Johnson can secure his commitment, it would be a major win—not just for the team, but also for Johnson personally, as some fans have started to question whether he can still recruit at the elite level he’s known for.
