The Florida Gators recently faced a setback in their 2026 recruiting efforts, losing two key commitments. Four-star linebacker Izayia Williams switched his pledge to Ole Miss, while four-star safety Devin Jackson withdrew his commitment entirely.
Despite these losses, quarterback Will Griffin remains a solid piece of the Gators’ 2026 class. On Saturday, On3 Sports announced that Griffin had earned a spot on the Elite 11 Finals roster—a prestigious event attended in the past by future NFL stars like Andrew Luck, CJ Stroud, Matthew Stafford, Trevor Lawrence, and Carson Palmer.
This year’s Elite 11 Finals is taking place in Los Angeles and showcases the top quarterback prospects from the 2026 recruiting cycle. Griffin, a four-star recruit and the No. 17 quarterback in the On3 Industry Rankings, has been committed to head coach Billy Napier and the Gators since June 1 of last year. The Tampa (Jesuit High School) native stands 6-foot-2.5 and weighs 225 pounds.
The only other 2026 commit for Florida at this point is three-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez, who announced his decision on May 18.

In more recruiting developments, Florida has been named among the top five choices for two standout 2026 prospects—four-star defensive lineman Nolan Wilson and four-star edge rusher Luke Wafle.
Head coach Billy Napier recently wrapped up his first winning season and bowl victory with the Gators. After going 6-6 in his debut season and losing the 2022 Las Vegas Bowl to Oregon State, Florida bounced back to finish 8-5 in 2024, capping the year with a dominant 33-8 win over Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl.
The Gators are set to kick off their 2025 season against Long Island on August 30.
