Huge boost: UNC beat three prominent programs to land highly rated super talent

Another talented quarterback  has pledged to play for Bill Belichick and North Carolina. The state champion quarterback picked the Tar Heels over offers from Auburn, NC State, Wisconsin, and others.

“Just the coaches at UNC, I mean all three programs have good coaches but Coach Belichick took me in the office and went over my film play by play with me and to have a legend take time to break down my film and personally talk to me about a plan to develop me is what really helped me make the decision after talking to my mom and dad,” He explained.

Travis becomes commit No. 15 for UNC in the class of 2026. He loves the trajectory of the program.

“Being able to help transform the team as a QB was important to me,” Burgess said. “I feel UNC is building something very special for the seasons to come and just want to be part of it.

“Coach Belichick will turn this program around in the next year or two! And I want to be a part of that legacy and help turn it around! The TB legacy will continue, go Tar Heels.”

Past visits help set the tone for North Carolina to land Travis Burgess

Burgess visited UNC a couple times this calendar year.

“The UNC visit was awesome,” Burgess said in the past. “To meet the legend in person was amazing. The fact him and his coaches and staff offered me out of so many high school QBs in the 26 class is crazy within itself. I mean to have them break down my film and give me positive feedback and be impressed with what I’m doing at the high school level when they’ve coached the QB goat Tom Brady is a highlight of my high school career.

“Everyone was so professional and knowledgeable.”

The On3 Industry tabs Burgess as the nation’s No. 24 quarterback. His latest visit in April made him feel at home.

“I would say this time having Coach Belichick review my film with me and give me positive feedback and him actually being involved in my recruitment process. The offensive coaches including me on everything this weekend was unbelievable.”

Playing against some of the best competition in the country as a junior, Burgess completed 60 percent of his passes for 2,225 yards and 23 touchdowns to just four interceptions. He added another 596 yards rushing and four more scores.
