SAD NEWS: Duke is losing a lot of talent…As Duke Blue Devils get final NBA Draft decision from star guard

Looking ahead to the 2025 NBA Draft, the Duke Blue Devils are set to see several key players transition to the professional ranks. After a strong run to the Final Four last season, the team is experiencing a significant loss of talent.

One of those departing is Tyrese Proctor, who, while not the most high-profile prospect from Duke, played a crucial role for the team. There had been some speculation that he might withdraw from the draft, but he has confirmed that he will remain in it.

On Wednesday, Proctor officially announced his decision regarding his future.

Speaking to Isaac Trotter of CBS Sports, Proctor reaffirmed his commitment to the draft:
“I’ve always said I’m either all in or all out,” he said. “I’m happy with my choice. I loved my time at Duke. I wish I could return, but I’m fully committed. Duke was great about everything.”

In addition to Proctor, Duke will be paying close attention to the draft outcomes for Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, and Sion James—all of whom are expected to be selected.

Proctor had a solid 2024-25 season, appearing in 38 games and averaging 12.4 points, three rebounds, and 2.2 assists. He shot 45.2% from the field and 40.5% from three-point range.

His skill set is expected to translate well to the NBA, with his ability to contribute on both ends of the floor standing out.

According to ESPN’s latest projections, Proctor is currently slated to be picked 52nd overall by the Phoenix Suns in the second round.
