St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Erick Fedde tossed a complete game shutout versus his old team, the Washington Nationals, but he dismissed any suggestion that he was seeking revenge.

“I have no ill-will towards the Nationals,” Fedde said after the game, per The Athletic. “They gave me every opportunity. They drafted me, allowed me to become a big leaguer. I owe them a lot in the sense of my career. But there’s always something about when somebody lets you go, showing them that you can be better.”
The Cardinals signed Erick Fedde following his stint playing overseas in 2023. Originally selected by the Washington Nationals in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft, Fedde eventually parted ways with the team after several seasons in D.C.
His dominant outing helped extend St. Louis’s winning streak to six games, as the Cardinals shut out the Nationals 10-0. Fedde went the distance, scattering six hits over nine scoreless innings.
