Nebraska football moved one step closer to landing a top defensive prospect, as four-star cornerback included the Huskers in his final four schools, announcing the news via social media.
Rated as the No. 263 overall player and the No. 24 cornerback in the 2026 class by On3, Hamiel also holds the distinction of being the top-ranked player in Arizona for his cycle. Joining Nebraska in his list of finalists are Oregon, Texas A\&M, and Penn State.
Hamiel’s summer will be packed with official visits. He plans to visit Penn State from May 16–18, Nebraska from June 6–8, Oregon from June 13–15, and Texas A\&M from June 20–22.
Hamiel is a dynamic playmaker who played in 12 games last season and recorded 50 tackles. He also proved to be a ball hawk, recording three interceptions for 51 yards and three pass deflections, per statistics from MaxPreps.com.
Landing Camren Hamiel would be a strong addition to a Nebraska secondary that’s steadily building a reputation for adding high-upside, playmaking talent. With his blend of athleticism and instincts, Hamiel could be a key piece in the Huskers’ defensive future. His upcoming visit will be crucial—not just to evaluate the program, but for Nebraska to make a lasting impression and potentially gain ground in a tightly contested recruitment.
It’ll be worth watching whether the Huskers can separate themselves from the pack during that June visit and position themselves as serious contenders for his commitment.
