Virginia Cavaliers Football strike again, land massive commitment to bolster depth

Over the past week, Virginia Football has been busy in the transfer portal searching for reinforcements in the secondary, and they’ve brought in three new additions during that span. Today, head coach Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers secured a commitment for physically gifted athlete. He started his college career at UCF, recorded two interceptions last season with the Panthers and will aim to compete for a role in the Cavaliers’ defense.

Morris logged over 200 snaps last season, according to Pro Football Focus, finishing with an overall grade of 62.4 and a coverage grade of 57.7. Head coach Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers are hoping to see those numbers improve as Morris looks to provide valuable depth in the secondary.

Virginia’s transfer class received a significant boost last week with the addition of two experienced defensive backs. Emmanuel Karnley, who briefly spent time at Miami after transferring from Arizona, joins the Cavaliers as a four-star transfer per 247Sports. He’s expected to make an immediate impact in the secondary.

The Cavaliers also added Da’Marcus Crosby from New Mexico State, strengthening the defensive backfield even further. Our own Aidan Baller recently provided a full breakdown of Crosby’s commitment.
