The Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Oregon Ducks en route to last season’s national championship, but the two programs are now clashing frequently in spring recruiting efforts.
One key contest involves five-star defensive lineman.
Unfortunately for Ohio State, it appears Oregon might be gaining the upper hand in Wesley’s recruitment.
“Oregon recruits me way harder than everyone else,” Wesley told On3’s Chad Simmons. “They preach Dan Lanning and his background and the same with Tosh Lupoi.
“They let me know the Oregon track record, and I have seen that.”
Wesley made unofficial visits to Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A\&M, and USC. He also told Simmons that he plans to take official visits to all six programs.
Wesley added that program chemistry and NFL development are important factors in his decision process.
“The culture is very important. I want to be where I want to stay and not go home. Having proof of development is another important thing,” Wesley told Simmons. “I want to go where I can make my dreams come true of playing in the NFL.”
Wesley is considered a four-star recruit by 247Sports, but the 247Sports Composite rankings elevate him to five-star status. He’s ranked as the No. 3 edge rusher in the 2026 recruiting class, the No. 5 overall prospect in California, and the No. 20 recruit nationally.
Measuring 6-foot-5 and weighing 250 pounds, Wesley is set to play his senior season at Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California.
