The Cincinnati Bearcats suffered a recruiting setback on Tuesday as three-star 2026 linebacker announced he is reopening his recruitment.
A 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect from Jonesboro High School in Georgia, he had originally committed to UC during a campus visit in September 2024. Since then, his profile has risen, and he now holds 17 offers, up from the 14 he had at the time of his commitment.
Ranked as the No. 962 overall player and the No. 81 linebacker nationally by 247Sports, Collier had attracted interest from programs such as Central Michigan, Arkansas State, and others. His decision to decommit signals a desire to explore the growing interest in his abilities.
“I want to thank Cincinnati for believing in me early, but I’m opening my recruitment to make sure I find the best fit for my future,” Collier shared via social media.
Cincinnati now has seven commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, which ranks No. 68 nationally, according to 247Sports. The Bearcats will look to regroup as they continue to build their future roster under head coach Scott Satterfield.
After talks with my coaches and family, I’ve decided to re-open my recruitment.
Much respect to The university of Cincinnati and Coach Braswell for the opportunity.
