NC State has added a standout big man, from the ASVEL international basketball team in France. With three seasons of international experience under his belt, this will be his first year playing for a U.S. college. The plan is for Paul to start at center, though the coaching staff is still working on securing Musa Sagnia as the backup center.

Background:
Paul Mbiya is from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He started playing organized basketball at the NBA Academy in Senegal at 17.
He is now 20 and has played three season of International ball.
Paul is reported to have a 7’4” wingspan, is very athletic, and is expected to get even better with college experience.
