Indiana’s new coaching staff has extended a scholarship offer to one of Texas’ top basketball prospects in the 2026 class.
Davion Adkins, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward, announced via his X account on Thursday that he received an offer from Indiana University.
Adkins plays for Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy in Dallas and brings a skill set reminiscent of former IU star Trayce Jackson-Davis. He’s a left-handed, high-level athlete known for his explosive second jump, ability to run the floor, and dominance around the rim—particularly on lobs and offensive rebounds. Adkins also displays a developing jump shot and boasts an impressive 7-foot-2 wingspan.

Per the On3 industry rankings, Adkins is ranked No. 23 nationally in the 2026 class and the No. 3 power forward. He holds the top spot among 2026 players in Texas and is widely considered a consensus top-40, four-star recruit.
He competes with Southern Assault on the Adidas 3SSB circuit during the AAU season and took part in the Team USA junior minicamp in April.
Adkins’ recruitment is shaping up to be a fierce national competition, with offers already from schools such as Arizona State, Kansas State, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas, Houston, Texas Tech, Cal, Oregon, TCU, SMU, and Rutgers.
In a recent highlight video, Adkins is wearing No. 25 in yellow.
