
Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon is once again in the running for the Ted Lindsay Award, which honors the NHL’s most outstanding player as voted by fellow players.
MacKinnon was named a finalist on Wednesday, joining Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov.
At 29, MacKinnon matched Kucherov for the league lead in assists with 84 and finished the season with 116 points. He is also the reigning Hart Trophy winner, awarded to the NHL’s MVP.

Makar, 26, is a first-time finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award and is also nominated for the Norris Trophy, recognizing the league’s top defenseman. He led all defensemen this season in goals (30), assists (62), and points (92).
Kucherov, 31, won his second straight Art Ross Trophy after leading the NHL in scoring with 121 points (37 goals, 84 assists).
