Colorado State football continues to build momentum in the offseason, securing a major boost to its defense with the commitment of another standout FCS star.
The physically gifted player who starred at an FCS powerhouse last season, announced his decision to transfer to CSU via social media on Tuesday morning. Known for his explosive speed off the edge and relentless motor, Tangelo tallied 12.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss in 2024, earning All-American honors and attracting interest from multiple FBS programs.
“I’m grateful for my journey and thankful to my coaches and teammates,” Tangelo said in his announcement. “Excited for the next chapter with Colorado State. Let’s work!”

At 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds, Tangelo brings both size and agility to a Rams defense looking to bolster its front line heading into the 2025 season. CSU head coach Jay Norvell praised the addition, calling Tangelo “an elite-level talent who will have an immediate impact.”
The Rams, coming off a 6-7 season and a bowl appearance, are looking to take the next step in the Mountain West, and Tangelo’s presence could be a key piece in that puzzle. He is expected to join the team this summer and participate in fall camp.
With the addition of Tangelo, CSU continues its aggressive push in the transfer portal, addressing critical needs with experienced talent.
