Massive blow: Auburn Loses Another Talented OL to Transfer Portal

The Auburn Tigers aim to address the gaps, both literally and figuratively, left by their offensive line as another player has joined the NCAA Transfer Portal. Jaden Muskrat, a graduate transfer, entered the portal on Friday, as reported by Pete Nakos of On3.

Jaden Muskrat, who previously transferred to Auburn from Tulsa, has played in 45 games during his college career but only made one start, which came while he was at Tulsa. He has one year of eligibility left, following three years at Tulsa and two years at Auburn. Muskrat received an extra year of eligibility as part of the 2020 recruiting class.

He is the second offensive lineman to leave Auburn via the transfer portal since the spring transfer window opened. Bradyn Joiner, who earned Freshman All-SEC honors last season, also entered the portal and has since transferred to Purdue.

Auburn will bolster its offensive line with transfers Xavier Chaplin from Virginia Tech and Mason Murphy from USC, along with returning players Dillon Wade, Jeremiah Wright, and Connor Lew, according to AL.com.

For Muskrat, he will aim to find a program that offers significant playing time, similar to Joiner’s success. A two-star recruit out of high school with his only offer from Tulsa, Muskrat is unranked as a transfer prospect. Given his background and the current landscape, a return to a Group of Five program seems to be the most likely path for him.
